What is GRC?
In order to understand what the glass-fiber reinforced
cement is, it is the best way to explain what this material made out of. GRC is
the composition of mortar and alkaline resistant glass fibers. The mortar is
made out of special raw materials including some nano materials in order to
have the minimum pore volume and the best properties. The best formulas are
engineered for the properties required.
The Advantages Of GRC
·
Easy at the reproduction of
the shaper and details
·
Quality at the surface
texture.
·
It’s light weight.
·
Easy to handle.
·
Earthquake resistant due to
its engineered fixing system.
·
Ultra-high strength in
compression and tension.
·
Can be painted later, or
colored in production processes, can have different facings including natural
stone and wood
·
Can be replaced non-structural precast
concrete elements which are heavy weight of having problems in shape.
·
Noncorrosive.
·
Low maintenance.
What is GRP?
GRP or Glass Reinforced Polyester is a composite material
that contains grassfires that are embedded in a synthetic polyester resin. the
fibers are usually found in the form of mats strands, chopped strands, as well as
in other forms.
Or in other words, GRP is a fiber reinforced polymer or a
composite material that is made from plastic which is then been reinforced with
fine fiber made from glass. Similar to another compound called carbon fiber
reinforced plastic, this composite material is often referred to using the name
derived from its reinforcing fiber – fiberglass.
The Advantages Of GRP
·
Non-Conductive
GRP has non-conductive properties, that is
it does not conduct electricity. This needed to provide a safe working
environment to avoid electrical risks.
·
Corrosion Resistance
GRP is the only material that can handle
any particular service environment, if seen in most cases. Their corrosion
resistance adds to the fact of its low cost making, making it more economically
viable.
·
High Strength
The high strength properties of GRP allow
for less material to be used than other more traditional structural materials
thus lowering cast and weight.
·
Economy
One of the major advantages os GRP is the
fact it is very affordable. When compared to other corrosion resistant
materials such as titanium and stainless steel, GRP will often: provide a more economical
solution allowing construction companies to companies to complete jobs on
budget.
·
Weight
Another advantage os GRP is found in its
low weight to potency ratio. Its lightweight properties are a key selling
point, particularly when it comes to tanks and simplicity and the cost of
installation, especially when it comes to tanks and pipes.
